Mold Activity in a Durham Attic
The lack of humidity control in the attic crawl space allowed mold spores to propagate and develop into mold patches on the underside of the roofing material. Not wanting to wet the blown insulation which would destroy its efficacy, we "ice blasted" the fungi with pressured carbon dioxide pellets to abrade them from the sheathing. The After Photo illustrates a mold free surface with no mess and swiftly accomplished. Our SERVPRO applied microbial remediation technician, AMRT, then fogged the entire crawlspace with an antifungal agent to disinfect and help prevent future mold infestations. We recommended to our client to have either a small dehumidifier or gable end exhaust fans installed to remedy the moisture problem. Need help or just a consultation? Call us 24/7 at (919) 467-0880.
